Ryland turns 3 years old!

On March 3rd, 2008 at 10:32am I delivered a beautiful, healthy baby boy named
Ryland Connor Dunham.

For me, Ryland's birthday this year was bittersweet. A child's birthday is always a very exciting time, there's so much fun that goes along with the celebration. However, the fact that my baby boy was going to be three made me feel a little emotional.

 For Ryland's birthday this year we got him a "big boy" bed, that means for our house the crib/toddler bed is history. Natalie and Ryland are both potty trained, can dress themselves, eat on their own (most of the time) and as of January 19th Natalie no longer uses a nuk. Ryland turning three made it seem official to me that we are out of the baby phase. In so many ways this is a great thing for our family but for sentimental me, I will always miss the days when my children needed me in every way. For now, I will cherish each moment I have with my little ones, even on the days when everything seems crazy and out of control. Occasionally, Ryland will still ask me to rock him before bed and I always jump at the chance as if it might be the last time he willingly lets me do it.

Happy birthday Ryland, one year older but always my baby...
