Ryland tries hockey for the first time! He was very nervous at first but once we coached him out onto the ice he immediately discovered how much fun it was!

Things that remind me of summer...

Fresh cut grass, hair that smells like a camp fire, sandy towels, the smell of food on the grill, the smells of a pool, sleeping next to a blowing fan, bubbles, sprinklers, soccer, Mr. Twistees, Fairhaven Beach, sunburned skin, aloe gel, lemonade, popcicles, side walk chalk, clothes hanging outside to dry, smores, strawberry picking, fireworks, picnics, hiking, camping, Dunkin Donuts iced lattes, playgrounds, the Ithaca Festival, waterfalls, flip flops, the smell of sunblock, sunsets, the sound of a loon, firewood for sale on the side of the road, thunderstorms, rainbows...

A Saturday trip to Niagara Falls

Our Saturday trip to Niagara Falls was a spontaneous attempt to spend some time together as a family and experience something wonderful and new. Thomas came up with the idea to take this day trip at about 11am and unlike times before I cooperated. I was acually for once feeling optimistic about the ride, anticipating a peaceful trip with two quiet children in the backseat.
