A trip to the zoo!

This morning we were all eating french toast for breakfast on the back porch when we spontaneously decided to make a trip to the Syracuse Zoo. Thomas and I quickly finished our coffee, cleaned up and packed a bag.

Mr. Lion was very hot, trying to keep cool like most of the animals by finding the perfect spot to rest.

Ryland watching the panguins, it was difficult to pull him away from this spot!

I took Ryland up for a close look at the parrot.

Ryland started crying when the parrot made a load squawk and started to flap it's wings. After we calmed him down and took a few steps back he pointed at the bird and said, "scawould" (scared) in the softest little voice.

By the end of our tour I held in my arms a very tired little girl.

It was a very hot day, well into the 90's. Despite the temperature we all had a blast!

Adirondack camping trip

It's something about that mountain air...

Photobucket

You sleep better at night, no worries, except maybe about who will make the coffee in the morning. It's always cooler at night but it's cozy, especially when you get to cuddle up with the ones you love.

This week we went on a family trip to the Adirondacks, we camped at Limekiln Campgrounds near Inlet, NY. Thomas and I have had countless adventures to this mountain paradise and we were thrilled to share the magic with our children.

Many people travel to the Adirondack region for it's raw beauty, there's lots to be said about the lure of this amazing place. The smell of the mountain air, the narrow shape of the pine trees, the sound of the loons singing their bedtime lullaby and the rustic beauty of everything you see.

We had a lakefront campsite and it was beautiful. Natalie and Ryland took a swim in the lake, the air was cold but the water was warm.

After the kids went to bed Thomas and I stayed up and talked by the campfire. We made smores and reminisced all of the times we shared camping in the Adirondacks.
