A perfect day for flying a kite!
Today we went to the lake to fly our Dora kite. When Natalie and Ryland both woke up from their naps Thomas and I decided to get the kids out of the house for some fresh air. The sun was finally out after days of gloom and since we all had a nagging "spring" cold we thought the fresh air would do us some good. The temperature was up into the 70's and there was a nice breeze, perfect weather for flying a kite. Usually I would stress about the house being perfect before we walked out but today I thought that I should be more spontaneous and enjoy life. It felt nice to walk out the door not worrying about the toys on the floor, dishes in the sink, and Ryland's dirty diaper laying on the sofa...I know that part is gross! Since recently being inspired by some great people I'm trying to teach myself to enjoy the moment and stop worrying about the little things, like some crumbs on the floor.
We had a great time flying the kite, walking by the lake and just enjoying the weather!
We decided to have dessert before dinner and go for ice cream at Peppy's. The kids were so content with their vanilla ice cream covered in rainbow sprinkles...Ryland decided to cover himself as well!
After talking our shower tonight we sat on the front porch swing together. I love the feeling of warm summer air after a shower and right before bed, it seems like a perfect end to an exciting day!
After the kids went to bed I soaked up the time I had to relax and enjoy a peaceful house before my tired head hit my pillow for the night. As I relaxed this evening I planned in my head what we would do tomorrow. Tomorrow is Saturday, dad goes back to work but we can still have fun, just the three of us! We will go to an early breakfast at the Water St. Cafe, our usual Saturday morning routine. Ryland has swimming lessons at 9:30am and Natalie will watch with Grandma and Papa. After swimming I thought we might take a trip to the Windmill before naps, that should make for an exciting morning for us all!
